Mazda 6 2.2 diesel (183BHP) (2009) - Replacement engine. Hi I have had a Mazda 6 sport 2.2 diesel (183bhp) since December 2009 and I have been having heating problems for the last 18 months or so.  The car has been into Mazda 3 times (the last time in March) when it had the head gasket replaced under warranty as it was cracked.  This fixed the problem for a few months however on the 7777, i dont think it matters on the belt placement, you can install it either way. The key is after you get the tension set just make sure the distributor is pointing the way i said, if it is off alignment on the #1 electrode in the dist cap then you run into having to make extreme adjustments to compensate for it being a tooth off and most of the time you cannot get enough out of turning it. .
